Privacy Policy
Last updated:
General
This Privacy Policy describes how Lens AI ("the App") treats information collected and received in connection with your use of the App. Our primary goal in collecting information is to provide and improve the App's products and services.
Information We Process
Information processed automatically
When you use the App, some information about your device and usage behavior may be processed automatically. This information is generally non-personal — it does not, on its own, identify you directly, and we access it only in aggregated form. We use it on the basis of our legitimate interest in improving the App and providing the best experience; without it, some features may not work as intended.
We use third-party analytics and advertising technologies that automatically process certain information sent by your device, including, in some cases, profiling for interest-based advertising. This starts automatically the first time you launch the App.
Device details
When you use a mobile device to access the App, some details are reported, including device identifiers (data that uniquely identifies your device but not you personally). What can be processed:
- Device information: type, OS and version, model, manufacturer, screen size, orientation, battery and memory usage.
- Connection information: mobile carrier, network type, IP address, session timestamps and duration.
- Device identifiers: Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA) and similar identifiers.
- App information: name, version, and related properties for analytics purposes.
Cookies and similar technologies
The App and its embedded ad/analytics SDKs may use cookie-like technologies to remember settings and measure feature usage and ad performance in aggregate.
Log and in-app event information
We and our analytics providers automatically record log information (such as session start/stop times) and in-app events (such as tutorial steps, purchases, and feature usage) to understand how the App is used and to improve it.
Ad-related information
Data about ads you view may be recorded, such as when an ad was shown, whether it was clicked, and which placement was involved.
Payment information
All purchases (including subscriptions) are billed and processed by Apple through the App Store. Lens AI does not access, receive, or store your payment card details. Refer to Apple's own privacy and purchase policies for details on how Apple handles payment information.
Information you submit
When you contact us by email for support, we process the information you choose to include (such as your email address and message content) solely to respond to your inquiry.
Permissions on your device
To provide its features, the App may request the following permissions:
- Camera — to scan and identify objects, plants, animals, insects, marine life, coins, and text in real time.
- Photo Library — only if you choose to identify or scan an existing photo instead of taking a new one.
You can review and change these permissions at any time in your device's Settings. Denying a permission means related features will not work, but does not affect any other part of the App.
How and why we use this information
- To provide, operate, and maintain the App's features that you request.
- To understand usage trends and improve the App's functionality and stability.
- To personalize and measure the performance of advertising shown in the free version of the App.
Third-party disclosure
We do not sell or trade your personal data. Certain non-personal, aggregated, or device-identifier data may be shared with our advertising and analytics providers (such as Google AdMob) strictly to operate and measure ads and app performance, subject to those providers' own privacy policies.
Security
We follow generally accepted standards to protect information submitted to us, both during transmission and after receipt, and regularly review our practices to keep them current.
Children's privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13 (or the relevant minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If we learn that we have inadvertently done so, we will take steps to delete that information.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the App or applicable law. Continued use of the App after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
